Kench Hill Centre is an elegant, homely Georgian mansion set amongst beautiful gardens in Kent countryside. It has hosted London Borough of Hackney’s school journeys for over 35 years, providing high quality, safe and fun educational activities for all pupils. It is run by The Kench Hill Charity working with Hackney Learning Trust, the education division of Hackney Council. The Centre is open all year, including holidays and weekends, for the benefit of Hackney’s learning community and other charitable groups. We welcome day and residential visits from a diverse range of groups, for formal and informal educational purposes. We are also available for hire to families and groups looking for a relaxed venue for special occasions, events and training – from wedding receptions to weekend breaks. All are welcome, while Hackney residents and employees can take advantage of discounted rates.
The Centre is an ideal location to teach National Curriculum subjects, especially Science, Geography and Design Technology, as well as providing a stimulus for creative art and craft activities. Our expert staff can devise and help teach a programme tailored to your needs, or advise you in developing your own programme using our facilities, including a 17-seater minibus.
“Kench Hill exists to provide a high quality, safe and enjoyable residential learning experience for Hackney’s learning community, serving to inspire, enhance educational achievement and develop social skills.”
