health and safety

It is a legal and moral requirement that leaders of school parties and others in a responsible position take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. We do all we can to help group leaders comply with guidelines. A preliminary visit is essential for any new leaders. Before a Kench Hill trip the group leader is sent a detailed pack with information about accommodation, activities etc. Leaders must send information about the group, staffing and experience to the Centre in advance of their visit.
Kench Hill Centre is a LoTC Quality Badge holder – Certificate no. R2QB102129 Issued 31/07/2017
* Update Feb 2012 Schools are no longer required to inform their local authority about trips. Hackney schools should refer to Hackney Learning Trust’s Health & Safety manual pages on Educational Visits and Risk Assessment TLTHS Manual Chapter 23 Educational Visits

You can download our Health & Safety Manual below. Its contents include our insurance details, child protection policy and all risk assessments. You may wish to print out only the risk assessments relevant to your visit. This document, version published February 2019, supercedes all previous documents.
