The site-based activities and trips listed are available all year unless specified. They are aimed at Key Stage 2, but we can devise activities to support your requirements for Key Stage 3-4. In particular we have expertise in science, ecology and geography up to ‘A’ level. We constantly improve and develop new activities. Adventurous activities can be arranged at other off-site facilities eg mountain-biking, high ropes, sand-yachting. Please discuss your visit with us in advance so we can tailor-make a programme for your learning needs. If possible, arrange a preliminary visit to view the Centre and its facilities. We are available most days, including weekends.
Most activities are for groups of 10-12, but some are suitable for whole classes. Groups rotate around 3-4 different activities during the day, so everyone does all the options. All are designed so children can safely develop the knowledge, skill and understanding required by the school curriculum through experiential, child-centred learning.
We incorporate cross-curricular themes in ESD (Education for Sustainable Development), PHSE and Citizenship in every aspect of our work. Healthy eating and sustainability are important elements of the Kench Hill experience. Outcomes are designed to fit the Every Child Matters framework – Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy & Achieve, Make a Positive Contribution.
