See Orienteering under Geography activities. We can offer a full unit of work based on orienteering and problem-solving for Key Stage 2. The fast and furious mapwork is very popular and motivates even the most sedentary pupils. Good for team work too.

Raft-Building

Work as a team to build a raft, learn to tie knots and compete against your rivals to balance and glide in a relay across the pond. Activity details and Learning Outcomes here: Rafting Teaching Notes

Team-Building Games

We can provide all the resources needed to develop physical and social skills. Why not make team-building and PSHE outcomes the focus of your week? Parachute games are great for learning how to work together as well as developing co-ordination. Environmental games are usually non-competitive, so are an excellent way to reinforce concepts in science as well as improving social skills. Our team challenges are a good way to finish the week.

Sports Day

Why not organise a half-day of team sports with a Kench Hill theme, to suit all abilities and aptitudes? Welly-throwing, egg & spoon, wheelbarrow races, fun relay races – we have all the equipment you need. Perfect way to end the week! Alternatively, in wet weather indoor team sports can be arranged, making use of our equipment such as table tennis, table football and skittles.

Rope Course

Ever popular, there are so many different challenges the children can complete on the rope course once they have mastered the basic route – get them to devise their own imaginative ideas. Can be a useful incentive as a free time activity, or part of a structured PE session. Must be supervised at all times.

Playing Field

Children love playing football and cricket on the clean, green grass in the playing field, once the rabbits have hopped off! For the more serious teams it may be possible to organise a friendly match with one of our local school sides. The 5-aside football court and basketball courts are always in demand and can also be used in free time or for structured games. We can organise competitive games against local schools in football and netball for all abilities.

We also have equipment available for badminton, tennis, simple croquet and boules.
